…….GIANT OF AFRICA….

giant of africa

giant of all races

hahahahahahaha

giant of corruption

giant of modern slavery

giant of neo-imperialism

giant of everything

let’s go on

giant of beurocracy

giant of nepotism

giant of everything

giant of ignorance

giant of poverty

giant of crass want

giant of impunity

giant of illiterates

giant of thieves

giant of short cuts to life

giant of bulging stomachs

giant of dichotomy

giant of tribalism

giant of religion

giant of all languages

giant of mischief

giant of red capped chiefs

giant of communal crisis

commercial hawkers of campaign of calumny

was it not in 1960

that this name as thoroughly born

proper dichotomy took effect

yes,it was in the giant era

giant of all times

I remember the bliss that rained like rain over alin’so

during nwachukwu’s reign

the peace that pissed on the opinions of opinion leaders

i remember

when nwachukwu warned alinso with norms of note

his comrade neigbouring, built on those norms

while his ally five miles away embraced the fate of social crusaders

i remember

days when knife was respected in farmers hands

urged in wood-fetchers hands

abhorred in idle hands

i remember

when i walked lonely nights sans fright

dashed my senses to bottles of wine

but made it abode bold and safe

i remember

when heads never made sounds like crushing bottles seeking revenge

now heads splinter like splits of wood made for the log

i remember

when all was urged to earn brains before breads

now bread chased sans head

animalism, now graze like in us like cattle on grass

i remember

when knockouts knocked  my kinsmen to bed

yore, knockouts knack them to neighbouring windows

from there, they peep their lonely beds

calmly carressed by opportunistic bedbugs

i remember

those days when kinsman’s blood made headlines on news

though now litter like cow dung

like crude crack of crude spill

flowing here and there

wakes no fellow from slumber

sake for it commonality

i remember

i remember nothing now

cus hades has been mashed on my psyche

‘Vicinity to the sea is desirable, because it is easier to do nothing by the sea than anywhere else, and because bathing and basking on the shore cannot be considered an employment but only an apotheosis of loafing.’ (“Expiation”)

Finding Hope

IMG_20150525_013012

Hope we had

for a better day.

Hope we had

for a better life.

Hope we had

for a better community.

We once held hope.

We once held these hopes.

IMG_20150525_013014

Hopes have vanished from our courageous hearts.

Hope sits afar.

Only hope,

the hope of survival sits here

with us

in the hope of a survival.

……….MY SLIPPERS……

It’s my slippers
Not yours
Everyday i stress my slippers
It’s my slippers
Not yours

I cry wolf with my slippers
I revel with my slippers
To the home of jesus with my Slippers
To breastfeed my crying bowls With my slippers
Who complains of my slippers
Will you buy me another?

I use my slippers everyday
A whitish thing it was
Now a proud thing it prouds itself

December 25th observed my Slippers day
I merried with my slippers
I have used my slippers for Everything
Except playing cache cache whit My divine embezzlement

My slippers
My shrunken slippers
The hammer and sickle
Of my abundant life
